Cultivating Excellence for the Next Generation of Farmers
The Dryland Field Wheat Competition serves as a platform for aspiring farmers to showcase their skills in wheat production under the pressures of dryland farming. With varying climatic conditions affecting crops in different regions, this competition encourages participants to develop and implement strategies that can mitigate the impacts of unpredictable weather patterns, such as droughts and late rains. The entries selected for the Regional Finals were of a high standard, demonstrating excellent agronomic management—a testament to the hard work of growers, their advisors, and agronomists.
“Investing in the future of agriculture is essential, and we believe that supporting young farmers is key to achieving this goal,” said Andrew Kissel, Product Manager for Crop Production ANZ/APAC.
“Through our sponsorship, we aim to inspire the next generation to embrace innovation and excellence in their farming practices, ensuring the longevity of the farming industry for years to come.”
The competition not only emphasises the importance of wheat production but also fosters a spirit of collaboration and healthy competition among participants. By creating an environment that encourages growth and development, the Dryland Field Wheat Competition seeks to build a resilient agricultural community equipped to navigate the challenges of the future.
Flexi-Coil’s sponsorship will provide participants with access to valuable resources, expert mentorship, and opportunities for networking with industry leaders. The company believes that nurturing young talent is crucial for the continued success of the agricultural sector.
“We are excited to see the creativity and passion that young farmers will bring to this competition,” added Andrew. “Together, we can build a vibrant agricultural community that is prepared to meet the challenges of the future.”
Judging for the Dryland Field Wheat Competition will take place in October and November, participants are encouraged to register by the deadlines in their region. For more information about the competition and Flexi-Coil’s role, please visit tinyurl.com/NSWAgShows
