Harvest has well and truly kicked off and ABARES is expecting farmers will harvest 46.1 million tonnes of winter crops including wheat, canola, barley and pulses. It’s forecasting a 28.1 million tonne wheat crop (up 16 per cent), a 9.5 million tonne barley crop (up 11 per cent) and a 3.6 million tonne canola harvest (up 23 per cent).

Victoria looks set to harvest a crop twice as big as last year’s and Queensland is expected to see a 25 per cent increase.

Even WA is expected to see above average yields, despite heavy frosts this season; and some SA growers are saying they expect their best harvest in 50 years.

Many factors contribute to a good harvest, of course, but we all know that a good start is essential to a good finish – so congratulations to you and your Flexi-Coil customers who are seeing the payoff that comes from Flexi-Coil seeding equipment!

We’d love to hear how things are going as harvest progresses – drop me a line or feel free to share pics and updates on our Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages.
